Heres an overview of what i have done and need to do, along with a plan.
Fisrt i am doing my phd in the US, will finish it early next year, so i have to finish my steps and apply for match 2009. I wasted a lot of time before with my phd, and i cant remember how many times i started studying and stopped for some reason. I work 8 hours a day, so had only few hours at night to study. Oh, i graduated in 2003, so kindof forgot a lot of basic sciences.

what have i done:

Pathology: Done! decided to start with pathology cuz i bet the exam is all pathology. Used both BRS and kaplan, Basic pathology from BRS and system from kaplan. I need to review cuz i am starting to forget a lot of stuff. Planning to go thru goljan notes later on along with audio as a way to integrate all together.

Microbiology: Used MMRE along with kaplan. Added whatever MME didnt have. Tables etcc printed out from kaplan and put them inside MME. Today i will be done from virology and parasitology.

Immunology: will use kaplan, along with Boards exam review. Giving it 1 day, since i have already done the Board exam review before, and it doesnt seem hard. I also did all immuno pathology from BRS.

Anatomy/Histology/Embryology: Kaplan books, and high yield. I will listen to the kaplan videos. and use the atlas from Moore. I will give it 7 days only. I was good in Anatomy, so i donnt think its a problem. But histology and embryology, im not soo good.

Biochemistry: Kaplan and Lippincott. This is going to be the easiest subject that i plan to finish also in 7 days. My phd is in molecular biology, so i guess half of biochem is done. All techniques i routinely use in the lab ettcc.

Genetics done from BRS pathology.

Physiology: BRS physiology, finished it more than a year ago and nevel looked at it again. So i will also give it 7 days along with kaplan figures and charts.

the last 2 subjects i hate and will take the longest:

Pharmacology: lippincott and kaplan videos. i bet this will take a month.

Behavioral sciences and biostat and epidem: Kaplan videos/book. and high yield. maybe will look at BRS too. I am doing an hou every day of **. I hate the biostat and epidem. others are ok.

I should be done by end of july. In july i will subscribe to Kaplan qbank for a month. and Aug will subscribe to USMLE World. Along with usmleworld in august, i will keep reviewing over and over all the subjects.

As for first aid, i will looks thru in august, but i doubt that i will use it since most info i should already know.

I have to say, that my studying is a bit different that others who do 1st, 2nd , and 3rd reads. I study the stuff really good from the beginning and then reviews should take for each subject 2 days tops.

I dont know if i am realistic in all of this. But i have a plan, and have to be strict and abide by it.

August i am taking off. so will have all day to study.

CS is scheduled for sept 22. and CK for december. I dont know if i will get any interviews but im taking a risk, and hope it pays off.
