half the recommendations are of no value and have no basis in healthcare.

these people need to have their funding cut; they make up stuff just
so that it keeps their job intact. let me list some top hits

1) in the er they removed stool guiac kits and developers from the
patient rooms and the er doctor has a developer in hiding in the drawer.
what is a patient going to do with a kit?

2) in the physician area they want every reference text to be up to the current year. do they have stook in these book companies?

3) each line of the physician orders they want only one drug listed. so
if a patient has 15 meds I will waste the whole paper just for listing meds.

it goes on and on....
contact your local representative and have this nonsensical commission
come up with real recommendations.

are they going for looks rather than practicality?

the problem is this complaint is as bureaucratic and officious as you are claming the organization is. Picking apart minor issues.

nothing bureaucratic and officious about noting some recommendations
that have negligible to non-existent values.

i havent read every recommendation ; dont have time.

here is another one.

before a jcaho visit hospitals try to get restraints signed within certain
number of hours. they already have a verbal order from the doctor.
the doctor has already seen and is aware if a restraint is needed.

someone needs to examine the recommendations made and see what is
their value versus the extra burden placed on a system that is beyond
the stretching point.
