I remember reading from a past thread that there are two forms of step 1; one is easier and the other being harder. The easier exam will require a >70% in order to pass whereas the more difficult exam will require >60% to pass. Can anyone who knows almost for certain verify this?????

Who knows how they really do things are the usmle people.
But 60-70% you must answer corect to have AT LEAST a PASSING grade.
About the dificulty it could be true or not be true.
But have in mind the test is standarized.

I forgot to add, because I'm just a little paranoid :behindco:
I will say that could be true.
As I said in the previous post, only them know how they score the exam, and the only official thing we hve is that you need to score anywhere from 60-70% of the exam correct to pass.
Remember they said that having a person with a 185 today would have the same knowledge as some one that score a 185 five years ago.
But if you notice the exam is more dificult from 5 years ago. You only need to see the questions in the 1998-2003 period compare to the estyle and dificulty of the questions from 2005-2008.
At the same time if you took NBME1 and then you took NBME 3 you also will have a different feel of the exam.
But I will repeat I'm just a little paranoid :behindco:
