4th Semester Transfers Application Deadline

Hey guys. I just spoke to UMHS Administration, and they stated that they are only going to have a 4th semester class this fall of 2008 if at least 30 people apply into the program. (right now its 10)

The problem is that they are wanting to reach this "30 applicants" within the next two weeks, so that they can get the faculty, etc in place. If there are not 30 applicants that have applied to transfer into the 4th semester class by this time, the school will not be having a 4th semester class.

I know that a lot of people end up applying to transfer right at the end of the semester, (especially with everybody waiting to hear if their school is going to establish a new loan program for them) but with UMHS's situation, this just isn't a viable option for them to offer.

So if you are currently a 3rd semester student who has considered or may consider applying to transfer into the 4th semester class, do it ASAP to ensure that you have the possibility of transferring into the 4th semester's class.

The application is all online and you don't have to pay the $75 app fee until its official that they are going to have a 4th semester program.

In September, UMHS will have 1st, 2nd and 5th semesters in operation. January 2009 will be the first semester in which we will be teaching all five semesters.

The UMHS official already answered your question. They will not have a 4th semester class in Sept.

NWS is correct. If you'll look two postings up, you'll see that I said UMHS will have 1,2 and 5th semesters in September. 3rd and 4th semesters are not slated to come online until January 2009.

Transfer applicants can still apply. I would suggest that applications be made by the end of November so that accepted students have time to apply for a student visa. This takes at least two weeks for the Ministry to process once they have all of the documents. Since this will be the Chyristmas season and many Ministry employees will be on vacation, the process time will probably take longer than normal so the earlier the application is made, the easier it will be for the students to transition.

I agree the staff is amazing and very on point with answering your questions and making you feel at ease. Somehow you feel that you are being fed no ** at all which is a good thing especially with all the anxiety and having to go to another country for your studies. I agree excellent staff, FA and Admissions process.
