Hello.. I was wondering if any one could answer this question.. Im going to Grenada tommorow to visit my friend and I'm bringing food. I was wondering if I have to declare them and pay taxes ? Im also bringing my computer do I need to pay taxes on that too ? Im only going to be there for a few days. Thanks so much
Computers are taxed @ 5% so ensure that you can show your puchase receipt AND hold on to the duty-paid receipt they give you for any future visits. Food, hmmm....can't say for sure, but depends hugely on the customs officer you encounter; they may not even open your baggage. Here's a thread from earlier about duty of all kindsa items.

Hope this helps!

Apparently you are only assessed a duty IF you are staying longer than 3 months, or something like that. If you're only there a short time then you are considered a tourist and can forego the taxes. You think every parents coming to viist their kid at SGU pays a duty on their digital camera? My parents didn't and they were just here a few weeks ago.
