there are 3 graduation days (winter, spring, summer) and you need to be done with rotations and have your case logs, evals, and shelf exams in before you are issued a diploma.

After you get the diploma, the school sends the paperwork to ECFMG so you can get your ECFMG certificate and only then are you able to start residency.

you should definately talk to MEAS about this because its more of an administrative question than one that can be easily answered on the forum.

Can you go to the comencemnet if you have yet to technically graduate?

How long does it take MEAS to send paperwork to ECFMG to get certified? If you graduate in June, can you get certified in time to start residency in July?

I graduated in the winter so with all of the holidays, it took about a month to be certified. People that graduated in April got theirs within about 3 weeks, and some even less than that.

Do the degree offering dates just mean that they mail you your diploma or is there a ceremony as well??

degree offering is only when they mail you your degree. there is no ceremony unless it is listed as such. from that list, it does not look like there will be a ceremony for the rest of the year. things could change so i would periodically call auc to find out for sure.

stupid q, but all these graduation dates etc are lil but confusing for a 1st year AUC student

so its entirely possible to start at AUC this fall (Sep1), graduate in may of 2012, and start residency that summer 2012

I believe so. Assuming you pass your step exams in a timely manner and do all of the work required of you.
