This is a request directed to any current students. I will be joining Saba in September 2004. I have heard that the majority of profs use Power Point when lecturing (that's great to hear!). As such, I would guess that lectures don't vary much from year to year (I could be way off on this one). Would it be possible for anyone to email me these power point lectures so that I may 'prep' myself over the summer months? Or maybe host them in a location where all new students could download them? Just a thought. If this is more work for the 'poster' than anticipated perhaps we could work out a bartering system where lectures are traded for Canadian beers? Hope everyone is doing well. Thanks for you consideration.

Negative, I have not yet received anything. Maybe if we contact the school? I just am curious to see the format they are given, the amount per lecture, etc.

Those lectures are in average 5 megas each and some of them can be as big as 80 megas, so you can pretty much forget of getting them by e-mail.
A better suggestion for you, if you want to have a head start, is to buy the Anatomy or Histology book and start studying.

I am currently finishing up first semester, so I have all of the power points. However, most of the files are so large, that I won't be able to send them over email, post them, etc. I'll look through them and see if there are any that are small enough to send.

How are you able to upload the slides in class? Do the professors allow you to stick a usb key in their laptops?

Which Anatomy / Histo book?
PS, if someone shoots me a powerpoint slide thing, I'll forward it to everyone on the list. I see the file sizes are bit large, but 5 meg isn't so large over email anymore.
If someone cares to let us see some, I can PM them my FTP server info so they can login and upload some and we can have a few for download.

You can upload the power point presentations from the computer in the classroom with your USB drive.

Try the Moore's Clinical Anatomy just for fun.
Try the Bloom & Fawcett Concise histology, or better... get the Leeson & Leeson Text/Atlas of Histology... oh, I miss that book!

Do yourself a favor and get the "Mini-Moore's". You'll get everything you need in a much more manageable package, plus there is a new edition out that is less than a year old.
Here's the book:
Essential Clinical Anatomy
Moore and Agur
ISBN # 0-7817-2830-4
You should be able to get it new for about US$50. Better yet, the older editions should be available used for much less. I bought one here for US$20, but they are harder to find.
Best of Luck!
