Getting converters isn't a big deal, but something to add, whether or not it applies is if you just need to converter just the prong settings (i.e. your device is able to converter internally from 120 to 220/240 as in most laptops, etc) which run about $2/$3 USDs or if you are needing an 'inverter' to change the current from 220/240 to the US 120 (some electronics) which can vary from $50 - $100 USDs depending on the electric load you're gonna be needing (if you plan on placing a few electronics on a power strip and running it off the inverter. Needless to say, the converters are all over the place and readily available; whereas the inverters are still available, but only at certain stores. The school and/or students will be able to show you where to get them. The converters are even available at your local radioshack, but b/c it comes in a package for all countries, it's about $7-$10. As for the inverter, I wouldn't personally recommend bringing one with you as they are a bit heavy and the airlines are getting more and more ridiculous about weight strictions (GRRRR).
