Everyone knows the school is going through a transition period. The new owners are now trying to instill accountability in a place where there was very little previously. This type of situation amounts to major problems especially in areas like finance.

A typical student would make a tuition payment at the Aruba campus by credit or check and would be given a receipt for their payment. Then their money would be sent to the Atlanta office and marked as paid in their electronic system. This should be a simple setup and it is for the people with loans because there is a more organized electronic trail. Though, for the students that pay by credit, check, etc.. money seems to have disappeared in the past. Most of the time students can back up their claim to have paid by showing their receipt, but if it is lost then they're out of luck so they will have to pay again or drop out before the first exam.

So now, the new owners are trying to collect from all the previous so called "student debt" and the majority of students are getting screwed because the school has lost their records of it. This is what I have heard from other students and luckily it hasn't happened to me. The moral of the story is.. make sure you keep files of all money transactions on anything you invest in. Follow up on where your money goes and make sure there is both a paper and electronic record of it. In the future i'm sure there will be better bookkeeping, but for now cross your fingers if you are in this situation.
