Does anyone know of another way to get to the island now that this passport law is in effect? Some way other than flying? For instance is there a ship that goes from Miami to Cayman since passports are not needed yet onboard ship..... Oh, and I don't think a cruise ship would qualify since we are talking about spending a period of time there.

you need to get a passport. to stay here you need a "student visa".

After 9-11, you have to have a passport even to go to Canada. At least get it expedited and pay for express if you have to.

Yeah I know.... It went into effect I believe Jan. 07 that you have to have a passport to Fly anywhere out of the country that's not a U.S territory. However, if your going by land or by sea it doesn't go into effect until Jan. 09. Just figured I'd ask and see what and if there were any options out there.

one of my classmates back in janurary applied for his passport and got it in like 10 days... if you expedite you should be fine to get one pretty quick
