Personal Statement

The personal statement asks for 1500 words, which I think would be way too boring for the reader. I would personally lose interest as well if it was that long. Mine is currently 900 words. Is that fine?

As my 8th grade English teacher always said: quality not quantity. If you think it accurately addresses what you need to say, then great. Succinct, brief, effective. I would let someone else who knows you read it though, just to see what they think.

Yeah, I tried to go by their guidelines and first wrote something around 1200-1300 words and like Kongakut said I had someone read it and he agreed with me that it was too long. So I made it shorter and ended up with something around 700 words which I was decently happy with.

I'd say your 900-word essay should be fine. I don't think they'll specifically penalize anyone for writing a shorter essay than their max limit.

if your stats are good, then i would say 900 should suffice.
