I wondered if any current students who have some 'airport experience' could help me out. I'm looking into flights and wondered the minimum length of time the layover should be to comfortably get from plane A to plane B keeping in mind customs, check in times, etc. The flight I looked at had a layover (at JFK) of just over an hour. Reasonable? Too risky? I'm not a frequent flyer and any info would help! Thanks in advance!

Are you going to have to go through customs at JFK? If so, i wouldn't risk it. I normally give myself a 2 hr minimum when making a connection if I have to go through customs. I am sure you will get many different opinions but this is just what I do. If I were just trying to make a connection within the US then I would say 1 hr should be fine. Of course, this all depends on if you are going to be entering the US at JFK or not. Hope this helps.

If I am flying from Toronto and switch the plane at JFK at same terminal to st Martin, will I have to go through customs again at JFK? or any other US airport?
I already gets a customs check at Toronto.
Any one who have travelled from Toronto, please reply

No. Once you go through US immigration in Toronto airport you are "in" the USA. You will go through immigration in St. Marteen.
