This is a popular question but I would like some updated info on it :P
Where should I get the cheapest fare to Grenada if I am from Canada? and when do ppl get there? Like I know the school starts on the 18th and the res opens 11th, and there are some mandatory sessions for 1st termers. So when is it a good time to arrive there?
Thanks!

Cheap Flights, Airline Tickets, Cheap Airfare & Discount Travel Deals - Kayak.com (http://www.kayak.com/) you should find a good comparison of tickets there, but i would check the individual airlines sites also.

zoom or skyservice; both direct fligths from toronto, zoom is 140lbs of checked bags and both are the best deals out there...one way is usally ~400$. Air Canada through Barbados, and then Liat to GND usually costs ~1400$ round trip.
Caribbean Air Fares - BWIA, LIAT, Caribbean Star, Zoom Air Charters, Sky Service, Air Jamaica, Air Canada (http://www.romatravel.com/airfares.html)

Thanks Cotterpin Doozer. So the price listed there are not for round trip? (e.g. JULY 01 RETURNING JULY 15
CAD $590.00
)
if not, then why does it say returning July 15? Haha it's confusing for me.

It's true...the tickets on kayak.com are mostly sold out. i had to go through a travel agent to get mine because I was having trouble getting a flight where tickets for LIAT could be issued (since Air Jamaica has few flights that week).
As for flying from Canada, prices are going to depend on where you fly from. Flying from the west will definitely be more expensive than flying from Toronto or Montreal or whatever.

no they are round trip prices except, since its a charter they do not have flights year round, but during certain peak travel months. So there is one charter flight (one from zoom and one from skyservice) December 17ish (somewhere right before x'mas but after exams) and then a flight coming back from Toronto the first or second week of January. During the summer (july to sept) there are usually flights leaving every other week. anyhow I usually book a one way and then wait for the Travel Agent to email the dates for the flights going home, which is usually a few months before the flight. I love the flight it is on a boeing 767 (zoom) with a huge checked baggage allowance and the fastest time they flew here once was 4hr14min; but usually it says 6hrs on the ticket. sorry i'm sounding a lil incoherent too much studying has made my brain mush.

Thanks jaywalk! btw do you know when ppl arrive at Grenada? There is a mandatory session on Aug. 15, so arriving on the 14th would be fine?
Also, Dec. 12 is the last day of exam this year, so that means I can leave on the 13th? Thank you!

Yes, you can leave on Dec 13th if you can find a flight that isn't full that day.

Has anyone had problems with going into Grenada with only a one way ticket? I found a really good deal with a charter from Canada and they don't sell long term return tickets at this time. Should I go for it?

yes Ive been getting that flight for the last 1.5years. Its awesome. You always get your bags (knock on wood noow that I've said that) and for Zoom there's no other airline that will let you bring 140lbs into the country. If you really are panicking about the one way ticket thing, just go to the American Airlines site and 'reserve a ticket' for when you will be leaving and then you can print it out, it will even have your name on it and yet you haven't paid a cent or given them your credit card. Then just take that with you just in case they ask. But they usually don't, they will ask for the date you are leaving, so just give them a date.
all the other ways to get here from toronto are a big pain in the ***. Expensive, connecting flights on turboprop planes, lost bags, fees for having >50lbs of luggage. This is the best way. You get on the plane, then 5 hrs later, you walk off and youre in Grenada.
WOW no way? This chartered plane is leaving from TO?? Care to share the info on this one way trip? I'm still looking for a good way down and everything seems quite expensive and takes a while!
Thanks a lot!

2 charters..Zoom and Skyservice. I prefer Zoom because of the 140lbs baggage allowance and larger plane.
