New Students Whats The Word
The school said they would announce where they would be having their 5th semester; any updates from the orientation?
They also said that by the start of the semester they would have received ECFMG and WHO listing? any updates there?
what about IMED listing?
the potential of site visits by New York in the near future?
your assessment of the the school and the information given about the above would really help us all out
I'll let the students answer the other matters but I wanted to clarify a statement or two. We did not say that we would have WHO/IMED listing and ECFMG license by the start of the semester. We did say that we would be notifying FAIMER who now mainains the IMED list when we started classes. The listing and ECFMG would follow from that. That notificatioon will go out tomorrow. We do not, however, know how long it takes for FAIMER to put our listing on their website.

This is taken from the UMHS web page under the clinical sciences link.
"UMHS students complete their fifth semester studies at the UMHS campus in Portland, Maine. The UMHS facilities include the latest in simulation and technology resources. Virtual clinics utilizing human simulators are a regular student experience."

Nice to hear where 5th is going to be.
This is the same place that St. Matthews use to have their 5th semester program at (Portland, Maine) until the school dropped it.
I heard nothing but extremely positive comments about the Maine Program from SMU students that went there for their 5th semester. A lot of students were disappointed to see it go.

Is UMHS planning for 5th semester sites in cities such as NYC or Miami? AUA has multiple sites and I believe are on the brink of getting NYC. Thanks.
If you've followed my answers in the past, you know that I don't report on things until the ink is dry on the contracts. So far, we have signed the paperwork on the Maine site for 5th semester. While we have been working on other sites, as well, we have not completed the arrangements. As we do complete them, we will post here and on our website. The same is true of our clinical sites as well.
I think that it is safe to say that our Portland site will be the only one in operation in September when we start taking 5th semester students.
