I would choose MUA over Windsor (MUA sister school of SABA) Ny Approved and students from what it seems are doing well in their classes and not too many complaints on VMD other than the whole financial crisis. The Dean of Basic Science is a Boston University graduate who seems like he really cares for the students and is having the school headed in the right direction. Since they are on the same island evaluate carefully which is the one having better matching rates and quality of clinical rotations. Part of objective part subjective advise. Good luck in your decision.

If you are looking to do rotations in NY than MUA is the clear choice. But, other wise all relative. Cost and stress on students should also be a major factor in your decision. Large portion of Windsor MD4/5 classes are transfers from MUA...due to academic reasons or cost. As far as rotations go....if you are from NY than the choice is clear. I would not even consider AUA over MUA for cost reasons.

I don't see Windsor being any clearer choice over MUA, but everyone has good and bad experiences at both schools, so if you do your research then you can only come to the factual conclusion that MUA is.....accredited!!!!!! Does Windsor have the potential to get you where ya want to go, yes, but it will be a long time coming before they are accredited by anyone...so you need to figure out what YOU need in a school and go from there...

MUA is not accredited by the LCME...the only body that is responsible for accreditation of Medical schools in the US and Canada. It is however approved in NY for clinical s. A lot of MUA students do not realize the difference in terms when they speak of their school.
Here is the post from the MUA forum.
MUA-Nevis an Accredited school? (http://www.valuemd.com/medical-university-americas-mua-nevis/145473-mua-nevis-accredited-school.html)
And if you want to do clinical in NY than MUA is your choice. But, It should be noted that graduates from both schools can get licensed in NY.

Windsor does not have the current list of residency/alumni but Mua has a track record. Also, Windsor does not have a list of their faculty members. I believe that these are some of the differences. I just got accepted for January 2009 into windsor but I believe that Windsor needs to do something about the above.

The goal is to take the board exams.....and the rest will be smooth..no matter what carib..medical school you go to...The only problem with MUA is .....if you fail a class..expect to be their for nine semester instead of five...

In regards to the Residency/Alumni of their graduates, you have to check their website because all that information is there. I hope that helps you. Also, I have an uncle that has graduated from there and is currently working in Ohio at a hospital as a chief resident. Good luck in January and the rest of your studies.

Windsor if you want to be good doctor with less stress.
MUA if you want to be good doctor with more stress.
I will eventually end up in NY/NJ as a IM doc, just like my friends in Ross,Saba,SGU etc etc. http://www.valuemd.com/images/icons/icon10.gifhttp://www.valuemd.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Windsor all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You will have fun learning there, and the stress load plus BSSSSS and more BSSSS are less of the bargain.

Let us know how it goes? Any what did you mean in your earlier post, stating that if you fail a class at MUA "you'll be there for 9 semesters instead of 5" that doesn't make sense.

They both are on seperate islands but the federation (Country) is one. St.Kitts is more developed compared to Nevis so more food choices (KFC, Dominoes, Subway etc. etc.) there. Nevis is on the quieter side so not as good food wise but there is no distraction. Yes there is added stress in terms of Shelf exams and the current Dean's constant desire for students to do better and better and his motto - "Every Day is a Block Day and Every night is a Block Night". Personally. I am performing better under this stress. At the end of the tunnel, students from both schools have to take USMLE.
I believe Windsor has their last semester in the US - Maybe a good thing, Maybe Not!!! You have to weigh your own options.
Cost wise Windsor is cheaper, Island wise windsor is better but MUA has a better track record for graduates.
Let me also put it this way, People from MUA may transfer to Windsor, I have never heard of it the other way around.
Good Luck!!

I have been to MUA untill semester three and transfered to Windsor...I am glad I did it.....The people I started with are still in the Island. The reason why.... you have to stay longer.... God forbid is that.....If you fail a class...the system.....is design in such away....you can take only two class. And then the following semester you can take only one class...because of the availability of class and timing. Now from my experience...I dont learn anything under pressure...Windsor works with you and they try to put alot of focus on USMLE.....Dont get me wrong all medical schools are hard....but it can be fun...if you chose Windsor.... believe me. By the way.... thank you for wishing me luck on the exam...:)
