I think todays the grand opening and orientation days begin. Can some students that are there please takes pictures daily of all the events and orientation and also please try to comment on the ups and down and over all experience?
Thanks alot
We start Orientation this evening with a social event. The actual nuts and bolts don't really start until tomorrow morning. They will contue until Saturday afternoon when we are taking the students and faculty sailing ona catamaran.
Classes start on Monday morning.
The Grand Opening will not be until Tuesday, May 13th. Dr. and Mrs. Ross are coming down with a number of the family members to commemorate the opening of UMHS.

Legit? If your concerned if it's legit, take 5 minutes and go to the website and see the pictures of the facilities. The campus is better than many of the other universities. Plus I believe there was a post, a while back concerning "pictures"
I love how everyone thinks they have to have a cynical tone when posting here!

i'm just kidding so chill. looking forward to how this school will do though
Just to keep the record straight, those "locals" are actually male nursing students and are not from St. Kitts. What I'm having trouble figuring out is why the license plate is backwards!
I would agree with Melsworth21 that you only have to go to the website to see actual photos of the school. In another post I have listed the pages and pictures that are real. In those pictures, students are also real. They are not actors or stand-ins.

Can you please share info on the Faculty of the school ? permanent status ? which states can students do rotations in ?
Also, I was under the assumption the Mr N. ***** (of AUA) was the ex-president of Ross U.
There is detailed information regarding the faculty at the UMHS website: Welcome - UMHS (http://www.umhs-sk.org). Please feel free to go read about the faculty. The faculty that are listed there are all permanent, although one will not teach at UMHS until fourth semester and another will be shared with our sister school, IUON. We will only be using visiting faculty to teach areas in which they bring specialized expertise. The faculty listed on the website are all all currently living in St. Kitts and are in the office daily.
No one wants to publicize the rotation sites as much as I do. As soon as I get the OK, I will list them here and they will also go onto our website.
I was a little confused by the comment about the ex-president. Maybe I am reading too much into the comment but it almost sounded like you thought I or someone else had said that he was NOT the ex-president of Ross University. Your assumption is correct.

Looks like the negative for the image got flipped before developing but no one caught it in production whenthe ad was made. Hmmm....

On another note I'm just glad to see things progressing.
I've incorporated UMHS into my five year plan. With a hopeful admission in Fall 2010. the vision is so clear that I'm 99% confident I won't even apply anywhere else, specially after speaking to the "south" rep via telephone several weeks ago during her visit to other area schools. Hubby is even excited and making plans for a 15 month hiatus from the states.

Thank you for the post,
AUA presidnet clearly state that he made Ross U the university it is today, from an unaccredited University to a University accepted in all states.

Thanks for the pic. Any more? For all the students there, what are your impressions of the school so far?

I am very impressed with the way things are going down here right now. The school officials and pres Ross are very helpful and willing to get things done. I am confident that they will have everything worked out shortly with the ECFMG/IMED. It really is something that you have to see for yourself here, the buildings are exactly as they say they are, all state of the art. The anatomy building is almost finished, and will look just like the illustration on the web page. PM me if you have any specific questions.

Since the Medical school just started classes on Monday the 12th, I don't think any of those students could be medical students! I am a medical student here now and none of the students in the picture are students in the medical school.

So, NIKEMAN, in the pic you posted which one are you????
Regarding the students in the first photo, I may not have been entirely clear. What I said was "Just to keep the record straight, those "locals" are actually male nursing students...." While I knew that the females were nursing students, anyone else might not have known and I didn't specifically say. All of the students in that photo were nursing students on campus at the time the photo was taken.
I thought you might be interested to read about the Opening Ceremony that was held last Tuesday. There is one error in the article. Twenty-two students were in attendance. One more has arrived since that time.

and that there isn't a MD school in the US that is at 400 per class (that would be ahem, Ross:D).

Awesome!!!
If you go to the UMHS Photo Album, you'll find some photos of the Orientation (May 9, 2008, the UMHS & IUON student/faculty catamaran trip (May 10, 2008), as well as the UMHS Opening Ceremony (May 13, 2008).
