There are also many students that followed the traditional route of going to Medical school right out of college instead of thrying for years to get into a US MEdical school. He started Ross at 21 and has finished his first year of Residency at 26. Wow even got a wage increase in his pgy2 contract. That means he can aford some snacks this coming year.

Its not bad, just make sure you are focused. People who are older are usually more mature and focused. They have gone through some of the crap life throws at them and they are more committed to their decisions. All of us become that way with age.
Just make sure you KNOW what you want and that you aren't going to get dristracted. Its hard to ask that of someone in their early 20s. I probably couldn't have done Ross if I was 23 when I started. I'd be too distracted.

I agree with you, I am in my late 20s and I been through enough to know exactly what I want.

There is nothing wrong with being younger. I am in my early 20s and haven't had a problem. If anything, your body can endure more physical stress (weather, lack of sleep etc). You simply need to stay focused and not let anything else distract you.

With Carib med schools I'd say the average starting age is as follows:
Men 25
Women 23
I was 28 when i started, so I was a few years past the average for guys.

Why would the average age be different for men vs. women?

I don't know why, but almost every girl in my first sem class was 22-24 with very few older than 25 (maybe 5% of the girls). The guys were mostly 22-26 but there was still a good amount 27-34 (maybe 20% of the guys).
