dont think smartness is a problem.

But the population is way greater than what us med schools can handle ..lol

btw: by east, I meant oriental indians and not american indians..

No offense taken man. I have been a consultant all over the world and often it is reassuring to be surrounded by others with similar backgrounds.

Which will lead me to start the Chubby Polish Kid & Trauma Surgery Club.
Action items will include discussing current trauma programs, studying for Steps, eating pierogies, telling bad jokes were heard growing up, and drinking beer.

T-shirts will only be available in XL, XXL, and normal.

Thank you for your interest in the Chubby Polish Kid & Trauma Surgery Club at Ross University. As you may have heard, applications this year were at an all time high. There were more well-qualified, pasty, slightly-obese, packzki pounding, Polish kids applying than ever before. Our admissions committee has reviewed your request and unfortunately we cannot honor your request for a size xxxxl shirt at this time.

We would like to offer you conditional acceptance into our BURP program. Please find enclosed a size xxl shirt, 2lbs of kielbasa, and a workout routine that will certainly prepare you for the rigors of the club in Dominica.

We wish you the best in your future medical endeavours.

I just want to share some of my experiences and those of my friends as well.

I think it is better to start making friends face to face. And based on what I've seen it is also better not to make friends too quickly.

For one, it really is hard to guage with confidence someones personality over the internet. From what I've seen the pattern is that people are away from their friends and family and are quick to make friends and trust people. The sooner you find out that trust needs to be earned and that trust is highly valued in life and in our particular situation--medical school-- the better off you will be.

Let's just say that getting back-stabbed and lied to is not fun. The funny thing is that I wasn't surprised that I got back stabbed by this person. I like to think that I am a good judge of character. And by not listening to my "reads" or gut feelings simply because I want to make new friends I set myself up to the emotional aspect of getting skrewed.

To those wondering what happend: nothing major but he did not share an upper semesters "hand me downs" with me. We both knew her and she said to give it to me. When I asked for it he said she didn't give him anything. Later she told me that she specifically told him to give it to me. When I called him out on it he couldn't look at me in the eyes and when he finally gave it to me he said that he only recently got it and said that she did not say to give it to me. And that he didn't want to give it to me because he wasn't sure it was ok. But the date on the file did not match his story.

Anyway, I can go on to more stories of friends but just use your imagination.

I'm sure that most people are mature enough to know these fundamental things but I felt like sharing. Good luck with school.

Once classes start, you have very little time for real friendships

I am sorry that you had to go through that. And I totally agree with on this, I had this happen to me as well. But after a while you just learn that that's the way some ppl are and you move on. Next time you make sure to not open ur mouth when you have something from and upper semester.

For all you desis...it might be too late as majority of you might be on the island already...but if there are some of you who are still flying in and have space in ur carry on, please bring some indian clothes as the SGA does host a Cultural Show, and it would be awesome to have an awesome fashion show!!! Also, if you can bring moved or anything further advance Indian Student Association that be great!

Till then enjoy you time on the island b4 classes start.

I just made it onto 2nd semester so if any of you might have any questions pls do ask.

Its probably the worst of the worst. Medical school is bad enough. Everyone is trying to climb to the top, some by whatever means necessary. Some LIKE to see others fail because it makes them feel superior. Its a dog eat dog world in medical school.

Ross is even worse because Ross admits people who aren't necessarily the best people. I've seen all kinds of inconcsiderate things here at Ross. People only look out for themselves. People even STEAL books or laptops or other people's belongings. Its that bad here. No, not everyone steals. Only a very tiny minority steal, but the fact that these people are admitted to medical school and are going to be practicing physicians is a scary thought. Keep your head down and your nose to the grind stone. Keep your eye on the prize. It WILL suck. Just keep studying every day from sunrise to sunset.

Don't be so quick to make friendships when you get here. Be careful. Things change quickly here. All kinds of rumors will go around. Its a small community. I've seen all kinds of drama with people. Two people who you think are friends one semester won't even talk to each other next semester. Keep your nose in the books. THATS your only true friend...
