Plan A; NAIL THE MCAT 30+ then apply to at least 50 schools ... and 10 D.O. schools ..
Plan B: Australia, England, Ireland .. If this still doesn't work
Plan C; SGU, Ross, AUC, SABA
Plan D; Pack you bags and come to Cayman:D

plan A isnt going to realistically happen without getting a bachelors even with that shiney 30+ MCAT.

I beg to differ ...it all depends on where you wanna go.

If you end up attending SMU; they have a BA/MBA program through Davenport in the works.
The benefits of this program would be you get your BA with only a few extra classes I'm guessing-not %100 sure.
You can defer your U.S. school student loans if you have them; and you get subsidized loans/partially at least because Davenport is a U.S. school.
As you continue along your career you might run into some licensing issues if you don't have a bachelors degree from what I've read on other threads; not exactly sure.
I would wait and tackle the BA/MBA until at least halfway through first semester depending on how you are handling the transition and workload. Each semester at SMU has 2 semesters online.
Good Luck.
Woops I lied; not just a few classes Davenport University > Microsites > Davenport, Medical Schools Partnership > Program Details (http://www.davenport.edu/tabid/561/Default.aspx#prog02)

If you want to go to school in the US, you do need a Bachelor's. I was shocked when I found out Carib schools didn't require it.

I think a a B.S. is not a waste. Going to a US school over a Carib school is a big difference.
If you're an older student and don't have time, I'd understand. However, if you're young it'd be worth it.

US schools do not require a **. Well i am not sure if all of them dont require but I do know for a fact that alot of them dont require a **.
However not having a ** would prolly put you last on an application pool near 20,000. So It would a very wise choice to have a ** or BA when applying to US med schools

not requiring a B S and realistically being competitive as an applican to a US school are 2 different things...like scott said even a 30+ is not going to make you that competitive next to all the other 30+ people WITH B S, MSs, and PhD that they have topick from.

yep thats my point. by not having a B S you put yourself behind 20,000 other students that do have one

While SMU may be a great school they don't have 50 states, nor do they have Stafford/government loans. The later is a big deal given the current loan crisis.

EVERYONE KEEPS talkinging about SMU not having calif and other states nobody really cares about unless you grew up in these states have HAVE TO RETURN for some reason cmon man south dakota? kansas? I can understand calif for many but I only been to calif once in my lfe and im from the east coast so for me no biggie...and smu will eventually get 50 states in time but when is the question...I predict calif will have to open up to any willing and able provider,,,I would hit the politicians in calif to put pressure on the medical bd there and you will see more action than just hoping for something to happen.

I think the OP's chances of getting into SGU without a ** are slim for the same reason. With 6-9 applicants for each seat they will choose the applicant with a degree.

Apply to several schools. I would also say that you should attempt to apply to a few U.S schools as well.

DRDR2U... The 50 states may not be important to you but to some it very well may be. The reason people continue to mention it is because everyone should be well informed. If someone is coming on here asking for assistance as this poster has done then those people that are trying to give the BEST information should do just that. The truth of the matter is that there are several states (not just Cali.) that people look into that don't allow SMU students to get licensed, do residency, or both. As a matter a fact, there are several located on the east coast.

Hey Onesolo,
What States on the East coast do not allow for SMU grads to do their residency and get licensed. Please do tell. That is good information to have,
Hopefully its not NY, MD, or DC?

If I remember correctly it's all under the sticky. However, I know that we can't do residency in NJ, license is an issue in MA, TN, GA, recently MI has become an issue. VT is an issue also. These are just the ones that I know of from doing my own research but take a look.

we can do residency in Jersey, we cant do any rotations there. I was recently told to do residency in jersey your rotations have to be green. But jersey is a very friendly IMG state when it comes to residency

I know for a fact that Ohio and Florida does not require a **. I know three MD's (gas) and none of them have theirs. And yes one is an IMG.
