I was just helping to new students, like myself, to stay clam and to think positive. I was scared first about this school when I was reading those negativism. I got accepted for Sept. 2008 in Oct. 2007. At that time I didn't even know that this website was existed. It happened during over the weekend that I was looking for book list and that's how I ended up here. While I was reading these, I got scared. So I contacted the Admission office, located at Staten Island, NY, and they explained everything. So I decided to make a note as an updated about this school to those who got accepted and to those who are thinking about it to apply. My whole purpose was that avoid these negativism and stay focus. I am sorry if I said something wrong but my point was not to get scared.

Mr Malikaung, newbie: It seems that you are the new St Martinus cheerleader.
Welcome to the forum!
First let me say that you are a very rare bird, because if you check the history of the St Martinus forum you will see that cheerleaders do not abound.
Now let me tear the nonsense you have put on this forum to threads
1- You have seen and heard many negatives about this University because THERE ARE MANY NEGATIVES ABOUT THIS UNIVERSITY. There is NO smoke WITHOUT FIRE!
2- you are correct- prospective students do not need the negative at St Martinus.
3 – How can you tell folk on the forum the actual facts about St Martinus University when you have not yet attended it and experienced its deficiencies.
How can you say that the negatives about St Martinus are garbage and a waste of time when you clearly state that you got accepted to St. Martinus University and that you hope to go there in September 2008?
You claim that St Martinus detractors are not from St Martinus at all but you are not from St Martinus either. What do you know about St Martinus except what you have been told? You have not even got there yet!
4- Why should any one be jealous of St Martinus? St Martinus began in 2003, and to date has a single solitary student in residency. It took almost six years to achieve that! AUA started in 2004. How many residents do they have? How many graduates do they have? How many students do they have? Do you wonder why there are only 90 students at St Martinus- a school that started since January 2003? I often do!
How do you know it will expand? Because you say so?
5- Who told you that St. Martinus University has a wonderful passing rate of USMLE on their first try? You might not know, but I know that that is a big lie! Unfortunately I cannot call the names of the students that failed the first time on this forum, but there are some. Nor can I tell you of the large number of students that quit because they were badly treated, or those who failed or transferred because they were poorly taught especially in Behavioral Sciences, and I can go on.
6- So you have done your homework, and you like what you heard and believe that you can give answers to folk that know the truth, supposedly all updated since April 30th 2008.
7- About professors? Do you know anything about the Professors? For instance what do you know about the man who holds a strange PhD degree from some weird guru school. Would you believe that this is well known in the St Martinus community, by the directors and in the streets of Otrabanda but yet this man masquerades as a teacher in a medical school. He is not a doctor. He is not a Psychiatrist. He has no clinical experience. He does not know his subject and yet he has tenure at this “University!” Will this be one of the new changes to the University that are all good that will be sanctioned by the new owner [personal name removed as per TOS]?
Yes I believe that if folk do extremely well on the U-SMILE at their first try, that we should ring a bell. but what on earth is the USMILE?
8 You urge us to contact the St. Martinus University's offices since they can't lie.
Do you realize what you have said there? They cant lie? You can only say that about God, last time I checked!
That last statement alone makes you less than credible.
How do you know how the University is doing? How do you know that it is doing the way it suppose to be like others when you have never been there? NO one can make St. Martinus bad. St Martinus has not developed as it ought to have because of jealousy from within- not from without. Because it has had square pegs in round holes.
Here is another of your non sequiturs. “Next you see any criticism about this University, just AVOID it and study hard and be a great physican in U.S.A. or where ever you like to do your profession.”
Rather the common sense thing would be to investigate the allegations! Don’t you think?
Now my good friends at St Martinus might not like this post because they know it is the truth. However, I don’t think that newbie cheerleaders should be allowed to post rubbish on this forum. I hate to see lies on the forum and cheerleading.
Prospective students must be told the truth on this forum at all times by those who know it
Just keeping you honest sir. Just keeping you honest!

I prefer St. Martinus University for many reasons. First, it has a great USMLE passing rate - thats very important to me. Its outside the hurricane belt, 3 hurricanes since 1900. Thats less than what we got in NC in the last 3 years!! Its the biggest of the 3 ABC islands (Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao). It has a US Embassy on the island. Its considered the Amsterdam of the Caribbean!!!....without the drugs, they're illegal there. From what I've read and the pictures I've seen, its seems like its one of the most up-to-date and/or modern universities of the Caribbean. I like the small class size as well. And seeing as how I'm from NC and an alumni from UNC-Chapel Hill, I like the fact that I can do my 4 year electives at UNC or Duke. I'll see ya down there - August 28th for me!!

Wait. Aug 28 is what? I mean, you booked your tickets already? What air line? What price? Does it have to be on that day? Plus, where did you get that whole information from? Not fair:confused:! I got accepted too:D! That will be you, me, and this other member. We need to work because we are going to graduate (hopefully) together. Slow down just a little because I am taking my finals - Friday and Monday:roll:. I am from New York. Yes the same guy in late April. I had to change it due to the offense I was recieving from Big Boss, who thinks he can ruin me.

Haven't booked my flight yet, but am planning on leaving thursday (aug. 28) b/c all flights are cheaper during the week rather than the weekend. You can move in (to the dorms at least) when ever you want. I thought 4-5 days is enough for me to get settled in, but not too comfortable with the Caribbean lifestyle before classes start. I haven't found any flights cheaper than about $730 or so. I'm planning on booking soon though - probably with US Airways.
