View Full Version : AICM Housing
I am trying to find a thread that addresses housing for AICM students.I know there is a sticky ("Where not to stay in Miami") but I would like some opinions from students who are staying there and those that have finished AICM .
Which is the best area to stay during AICM in Miami ?
Some have said the Airport Villas are better due to less traffic.
Any experiences or advice on where to begin looking?
Thanks
Traffic is everywhere in miami. You have to go around to different locations during the week, that it doesnt really matter too much where you live. If you are in UMBR, you're better off living near the 7000 building, otherwise anywhere is good.
Most students either lived near the Hyatt (large group sessions) in downtown, or close to 7000 bldg. in South Miami. And of course there is South Beach.

Valencia near the 7000 is really nice, and is ok on pricing if you can find an apt at the right time. I stayed at the airport villas, and the location was one of the few benefits...it was centrally located between the Hyatt and 7k building and rotations I did. The big downside is that you don't get what you pay for. I had a couple of friends living in Valencia and they payed maybe $100 more than I did, but the difference between the two was staggering.
Is Valencia the name of the area or is it the name of the apartment building ?

Valencia is the name of the condo complex. People buy the condos and rent them out. It depends on the owner on how much the rent is and if it is furnished.

look downtown and the brickell area. Kendall is not so good because of your commute in the morning with traffic but it is the least expensive

So basically, I gather that you do some of your time at the Hyatt (large group sessions), 7000 Building, and other clinical sites.
Do you have the specific addresses for these buildings - Hyatt and 7000 Building?
How long do you guys usually sit in traffic for? I am guessing a car is necessary. Do you have to pay for parking too or is there free parking provided at the apartment complexes?
I also heard that you could opt to stay in a hotel for the semester. Does anyone know which hotel it is and how much it costs to stay there?
