Are transformers available there in Dominica? We are recommended to buy the transformers there, right? How much are transformers and how many outlets are there per transformer?

YES, transformers are widely available here. IN fact, they are SO heavy you would never want to ship or carry them yourself. There is typically ony one outlet per transformer, but some of the larger ones have more. For the larger ones, you can plug in a power strip, but its dangerous to do because you don't want to blow it by overloading the transformer. Just be careful. You may not even need them as some apartments have 110v power.

No one answered my question about that RCA 50 watts above converter question.
I suppose that it is useless. I am gonna sell it on ebay.
I didn't answer your question because I don't know anything about the converter that you specifically asked about. In general, we do not recommend converters for anything other than electric razors. I have always been told that they should NOT be used for eletronic equeipment as the equipment will suffer damage.
Transformers are the best way to step down the 220v for 110 appliances and electronics.
i saw some of the apartments yesterday had 110v. My apartment has the wall outlets installed, but they are not working yet. I do not know when they will be. For the moment I have no use of anything. I am hoping to get into Roseau tommorow and see if I can find one that will handle more appliances at once for a bit cheaper.
For now I need to go buy an extra wall plug converter for my laptop at least.
If you are going to Roseau to find a transformer, check Eamon's, an electrical store on the Bayfront. Their prices are reasonable and their products are good quality. When you are finished there, walk across Kenedy Avenue and have lunch at Coco Rico's, a small French cafe that has some of the best food in the town! If you like what you eat in the cafe, go down stairs to the deli. You will find all the cheeses, bread and ham to take home for lunch the following day. If you get a bottle of wine, the man that owns Coco Rico's is very knowledgable and trustworthy. I have had him tell me "No" when I went to buy a bottle of wine that he didn't think was good quality. On the other hand, he has also suggested some low cost wines that were excellent.
