Hello,
I'm a Canadian student that is in the process of applying to St. Matthews. I understand that the school itself will convert my Canadian percentage grades to a GPA, but I was wondering if anyone knows the scale they use to convert percentages to letter grades and letter grades to gpa? I'm just curious...
Thanks!

.... and 90% = A, 80% = B, and 70% = C, below 70 = F.

so if you have a few grades that are 60%'s, how do they calculate those into your GPA? Do they get a GPA number or get included in the calculation somehow? (I'm a Canadian too, so I'm not sure how it works)

Some but not all Caribbean schools will use the GPA rating system that your government acknowledges. I'm from Ontario and if I find the link I will come back and post it. But the Ontario GPA conversion is based on our letter grades and not out 13.0 scaled grade. So.....
A+ = 4.0
A = 3.9
A- = 3.7
B+ = 3.3
B = 3.0
B- = 2.7
C+ = 2.3
C = 2.0
C- = 1.7
D+ = 1.3
D = 1.0
D- = 0.7
Any F = 0
Now keep in mind some of the schools in my experience use a numbering system that is very very close to this but anything D- and lower is an automatic zero and I've seen A- as 3.66 from AUA for example. Ultimately, unless you have lots of low D's and F's which I doubt, your score will be almost exactly the same as what they calculate if you use this system. This is the Ontario 2007-2008 conversion system that was sent to me by an admissions officer at Saba. I know they use this system exactly as the Ontario Gov recommends. Hope this helps:)
