Class Schedule.

Does anybody know when the may 2008 semester starts and end? Also does anybody have some sort of idea about the class schedule and like what time the class starts/ends? Thanks.

I was told that the classes will start on May 12 by the US office, then just a few days ago that the classes will actually start on May 13 by the St Kitts office.
As far as the class schedule...well that one seems to be up in the air a bit. I called the US office yesterday and the lady said that the schedule has been changed and you should not expect the same schedule that is posted on the net.
I suppose the 12th could be an oreintation day. I am getting there on the 1st with my fiancee (hope I spelled that right) and going straight to the school to get a better idea and to try to get a good dorm that is close.
From reading what is posted on the net I understand Anatomy 1, Medical Cell Biology, Genetics, Biochem, and Embryology to be the first semester classes.
I would be happy not to have Gross Anatomy and Biochem in the first semester.
I also wonder about the weekly exams...will there be 5 exams per week (one exam per subject) or one exam per week covering all subjects???
Perhaps MD2009 or Windsor MD will have some info to offer...

We had Anatomy 1,Physio 1 and embryology for MD 1.... Did they change the subjects?

You have separate tests for different subjects...Depends on your lecturer as to when you would have a test.... I think for Physio you usually have 1 after each chapter is completed.... Embryo after completing 7-8 chapters and Anatomy you have 2 tests for upper limb,2 for lower and 1 for thorax usually.... This was how it was for us...it might have changed.... Usually you would have 1-2 tests a week....

ok thanx for the replies...so nobody knows when the semester ends (theres no real schedule yet?) the reason i ask is because i was hoping to get a roundtrip ticket but i guess i have no choice but to go 1 way...

get a one way going into the island and then from that point, get round trip tix for the breaks..that is what quite a few students do....it saves the hassle of "guessing dates"

as for the first day...the 12th should be the first day, but its only registration/orientation for MD1 classes from what I remember when I was on the island....then "regular" classes start the next day....so yes, 13th would be the first day for some, while the 12th may be the first day for others...

from what i heard may 12th is a national holiday for st. kitts so the school is closed as well

and the first time you come it might be an issue getting a oneway...but i dont know for sure because you can't really enter a country without proving that you are going to leave without a visa...but they might not be that strict here

Even I was told that the last day was Aug 22,2008. So I book my return ticket for the evening of Aug 22, 2008

May 12 is a holiday for the St Kitts, but Windsor will be open. Orientation and grades will be given out for the old students, but I heard some of the professors plan to give their first lectures. Aug 22 is the last day of classes.
