Wireless Internet

Can anyone please tell me what type of internet is provided on campus? I know the campus is wireless but does it require a VPN software login or is it just secure password protected? The reason is I am bringing my ipod and wanted to see if I could browse the internet with that and also my cell phone uses wifi to connect with skype, thus while at school or at home I would be connected to wifi and thus able to receive calls from the US in case of any emergency.

Since my area of expertise is not IT, I had to go to our gurus to find out the answer to your question. Our WiFi system uses a secure password, not VPN software.

I have a Blackberry and it works well on the school' system. Several students and faculty use Skype and it works well, also.
