So I had applied to HYMS and lost by 5 points to get accepted into the Medical school...was kind of a bummer as I flew in from Canada hoping get a seat in the UK...I really want to study medicine:(....so I was wondering does anyone know how clearing works and when does it start...also can I write the UKCAT and join UCAS again for the year 2009. I had applied for 2008 entry but was unsuccessful. Any advice? Also are there any programs where you can do a premed one year and apply again in the UK? I only heard of Sussex doing that type of thing but for students interested to applying to Gdansk and SMU.

Medicine as a course doesn't enter clearing, regardless of the institution, therefore the only option is to re-apply for 2009, however once again you will have to sit the UKCAT and apply to medical programmes via UCAS.
