Shipping to Statia

I have researched a bit into shipping items to statia but would like to find out if anyone knows any shipping companies in the US that ship to statia at affordable prices. Tropicalshipping do not ship to statia when i called them and UPS is ridiculously expensive. It will be convenient to ship somewhat large items and some food items as well. Thanks

it's better to use DHL...b/c its more com'on the Island, Statia. :-jumprope

Can you ship items like kitchen knives and such supplies through the US mail to the shipping container on the island or should I look into direct shipping from the DHL company or UPS to the island?

through USPS you can get a box that has a flat-rate. since its a flat rate, its a certain size, but you would easily be able to fit in kitchen knives, etc.

the post office does have flat rate boxes. The biggest one is $49.95 (ship anywhere in the world). It just has to be under 20 lbs. The box is about 16 x 16 x 6 (go to their website to get exact dims. But I think it is a great option. I think I will be shipping a few things that way.

Maybe they didn't like me too much...lol. I just went there yesterday. HMMM seems a huge increase to be a new rate. Who knows...

hey , i just finished my 4th term and going to illinois for my 5th term, so just a suggestion with shipping from my time on statia. USPS will be cheapest, but if you anything needs to be sent from US to statia the fastest , FED EX is the way to go. it will cost more but ive received things very quickly thru FED EX. hope that helps :)

Thanks sk1948, i guess if i need my stuff quickly i will use fedex or ups and if i dont mind about when they arrive will go with usps.
Since u mentioned you are done with 4th term, how did you find the education in statia?

also, the time we used USPS, I received my boxes in little over a week, which is not that long.
