So this is more of a rant than anything else, but I also wanted to make people aware of what is going on. I am scheduled to graduate on May 31st. I have matched. Now here is the issue. I completed my psychiatry rotation at MIH on Feburary 29th. That attending has not filled out any evaluations. It has been two months now, and she is still dragging her feet. Needless to say, If my evalutation is not recieved on time, not only will I not graduate, I will not be ECFMG certified which means I cannot start residency. This is absolutely ridiculous. These people hold our futures in their hands. The mere fact that it has taken this long is completely disrespectful to all of the students who showed up everyday, did their work, and our now being screwed. For anyone who did this rotation and who is graduating, please call the hospital and complain, as well as your clincal advisor. I have emailed several people at Ross about this issue already. Good Luck

Unbelievable! Surely your representative at Ross will help. I can't imagine that Ross would allow this to happen

All the best. Let us know how it goes.

I graduated on March 31st of this year and I was almost in the same situation because my last rotation ended 5 days before the deadline to have the evaluations in. I personally contacted the doctor, kissed some butt, and asked them to fill out the rotation form and fedex it for me. I told them I would greatly appreciate it and they could bill my mastercard for the fedex fee as well as any reasonable fee that they felt they needed to collect for having gone to the trouble of filling it out and calling fedex to come and get it.

They billed me 42 dollars and change which wasnt more than just fedex so I cant complain.

Yes it may be wrong but sometimes you have to at least offer to make it worth their while as well.

absolutely ridiculous...and these are the same people that Ross invites for outings in Puerto Rico and other places.

Also beware of Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago...they are ALWAYS late sending in evaluations! It took me almost 5 months to get one of my evaluations.

Well just a little update... I spoke with the clinical coordinator at the hospital about this, and she said she has been after them for months. The attending has not even filled out evaluations for people who completed their rotation in December! This is completely unacceptable. I am going to hunt down the attending and have her fill mine out. To the poster who offered to pay the attending to fill out the eval... that is absolutely ludicrous. They get paid from the school to teach AND to fill out the eval. I am glad the attending had enough integrity to not accept such payment, but if a student feels they need to "bribe" an attending to do something they are already supposed to be doing, it says something about the quality of rotations we are assigned.
