Just wondering...how many (successful) students are at Ross w/o a degree, with just the 90credit requirement. Thanks.
i was under the impression you had to have a bachelors degree to apply/get into ross?

I dont believe they will let you begin classes without a degree. Atleast that was what I was told.

I am one of them...
Undergrad was an enormous waste of time, and I was 100% UNinterested in what was "taught." I didn't even bother applying to US schools...just applied straight to a foreign school...
worked out so far, and having a batchelors degree is by no means a requirement anywhere...

Thanks. I know that 90+ credits is required. (My girlfriends father went to med school (Universisdad Central del Est) with 90 credits, so did his anesthesia partner and his wife.) Heres my situation: I'm a junior, My first year of colllege I didnt know what I was going to study. With a deadly mix of ignorance, inmaturity, lack of direction, and whatever else, my grades were mediocore. This continued my sophmore year, and some how I ended up as a communications major.(dear God) This past year, I got my act together, I took pretty much all of my med school pre-reqs did fine in them (I havent took Physics) At this point Im wondering if: 1. I should change majors (officially) to Biology.
2. Or continue with some more science classes and apply. Sometime next year. Any help? I want to do things right, with no short cuts. I want to come to Ross or "the top 4" with a solid fondation, but does that fondation require 2 or 3 more years for a **?

Why not just keep your major and finish your med school prereqs. It doesn't really matter what your major is, in fact having a major other than the thousands with biology degrees will set you apart...
Best of luck...

You can apply to medical school w/ a BA instead of a B.S given that you fulfill your premed requirements (including physics) and take some additional science classes . I think competency in medical school doesn't necessarily have to do with whether you graduate w/ a BA or B.S, rather how well you do in your science classes. I majored in English and the humanities, but took plenty of science classes in college and did pretty well in them, sometimes better than most of the bio and chem majors. Some people might have mixed opinions about this, but being a nonscience major can actually mean more work than you might think. Writing twenty page papers and studying for orgo and histo can require some serious Red Bull. ;)

I don't have a B S or BA degree. I came into Ross with about 100 semester units. They MERPed me, but I did well, moved onto the island and did fine and never had to repeat anything. I just completed 5th in Miami and am studying for the Step. No B S degree is needed. Even without a B S, those who know me know that I am full of it anyway.

Maybe you don't need a Bachelor's degree, but wouldn't it be a good idea to work hard for another year and just get it? You never know what can happen with med school. It's always a good idea to have a Bachelor's. Plus, isn't it awkward when interviewing for residencies and they ask you why they don't see information about your bachelor's on the application.
I agree that Undergrad was mostly a waste of time, but it feels good that I have a degree (just in case).
