Im a former SMU student, i completed the first semester before i left!! I wanna go back to school, but dont want to go to SMU. My question is how are most people paying for tutition and living expenses. Are most people on TERI?? Is it hard to get TERI??? Or are there other options for loans?

I am planning on Teri. I sure hope it works.

Don't mean to seem negative or anything but as of right now TERI is not accepting anymore applications and BoA has pulled out. Wachovia is no longer listed on TERI but I don't know if they are still doing Private school loans anymore. You might want to look into that and call the school for other options. I think the FA department for ST Eustatius is pretty helpful.

thanks for your reply (brytay22), my loan through Teri has already been approved and finalized. I just hope that there are loans available after the first year.

i talked in person to a guy at the school today about TERI, he said:

wachovia is out
Bank of America is still in
and they have another bank coming in, Royal Bank of Scotland

he said they are trying to work on a way to get loans from Royal Bank of Scotland through TERI, and by just going through the bank itself.

the guy was in contact with the school reps in NY yesterday afternoon and said that this is how it looks like its gonna unfold.

Here's a message I got from admissions in response to my email about the loan providers.

All student loan sources are closed at this time due to the financial market. We are working with Europe to get funding- just get your credit report to Claudia and we will get back to you as soon as the markets get loans or as soon as we get our own lending source

I'm a little confused here, I'm not sure what you mean by report? Or you talking about the complete report about the credit score? If so, I'm quite sure that's what they want.

yes, I was asking if you needed to send both the credit report and the credit score. I think that is what they need. I have to send it off. I did not get the score though yet.

With no funding ther is no reason to send them a credit report. The lender (which their is none) would pull their own credit report. I would try to fi nd some money own my own i.e. visa, master card, am-ex, rich aunt, or your own bank. Hope the sitution resolves it self soooooon.
