Hey,

I was wondering if anyone could give any statistics or first-hand stories about coming back to practice in the US after attending a Russian medical school.

From what I understand while reading these boards, the majority of the troubles that people experience are language-related (ie the programs aren't as "english-medium" as expected, or you get ripped off for english classes, etc.)

I am a Russian immigrant living in the US so my Russian is fluent and I would now like to go back and do my medical education there.

So, besides the usual language-barrier problems, what kind of trouble did you guys encounter when matching for a residency here? Was the school that you went to well respected in the US? Did you do well on your USMLEs? Etc.

How many of the foreign medical students in Russia are actually American? I get the impression that most of you are from India or Malaysia or Africa, etc.

Sorry for the barrage of questions, I'm just hoping to get a thread started that pertains to people who want to practice in the US after graduation, so tell your stories!
