I called the school today and they said that TERI is not accepting anymore applications. What does this mean? So we have to take the schools assistance program and be forced to take davenport even if we dont want to in order to fund further education.

I have read some of the other loan details, but I do not want davenport program, what is the best option?

I don't know about not accepting any applications for teri...but I'm trying to sing up for it online right now and I have been calling them at the same time but no one is picking up so far.

I get the following message. Has anyone else dealt with this problem before? I don't know how to get in to the online application.

Thank you for choosing Bank of America. Unfortunately we are not accepting applications for this program at this time. We are sorry for the inconvenience and wish you luck as you pursue your educational goals.

I thought BA wasn’t the only bank that TERI worked with. I guess I was wrong…oh boy!!!!!

Teri services two banks. Are both of them gone or just BA?

So what are you going to do? Move home? Funding from the school may be great, but do the majority of students actually have the resources to live on island themselves? The university will have to do something, don't ya think?

I think alot of us may be in the same fiancial situation which is really sad/ Hopefully they will be able to come up with some solution because even when you have excellent credit the banks are really stringent on personal loans as well due to the crunch. God help us.

life sucks for me b/c there is no way i can pay for medical school without loans. I am going to take the semester off. Really this should not happen. We are medical students for crying out loud this should never be an issue.

that's ok, cause mba with davenport gave me 8500, but it is diff depending on your fasfa. point being, it covers tuition for mba plus housing, you still have to cover smu tuition with private loans.

Did you have to take any other exams like GMAT in order to get into Davenport?

I think all 3 have not had any disruption to the core loans we receive (Sallie Mae Federal Loans). This covers tuition plus 8K-10K for living expenses. However, some of the private loans we have recieved in the past have been dropped, but new ones have been substituted.

It is just not all Carib med schools dealing with loan issues, it is happening all across the US univ system. But it seems smaller, newer carib schools are getting hit the hardest
