Rumors are flying out of Chicago that Spartan has a new owner or ownership group. Any truth to this?

If true, how do Spartan alumni and current students feel about new ownership of the school?

How would the potential new ownership affect the administration of the school in St. Lucia and/or in the US?

Curious and interested current students and alumni want to know.

My father was told a recent meeting that it was either some doctors out of Wyckoff or Wyckoff itself.

I have confirmed the information - Spartan HAS been sold. It was infact sold to a some investors from or affliated with Wyckoff Hospital in New York. I was not given any other details. This information is straight from the school. Lets hope the new owners realize what a gold-mine they are sitting on and pour money into the school and develop it further.

Liquidation of assets. Hmmm, I guess money is tight with Dr. H, the owner. CAHSU, the sister school, has been suffering because of the "no loan" situation. Interesting.

well at CAHSU you set up a lot of your rotations on your own anyway. but i would assume if you sell the school, the affiliations go with it as well, i would think.

So, how much truth is there in this "sold" rumor? Is this another gimmick to attract new students?

Any idea about the timeframe? Shouldnt the new owners be in place now?

I do not think its a rumor,if you go to spartan website and read under messages you find new president and board of trustees and new leadership[except Dr P the VP probably they let him stay].

The new owners from NY from what I hear,NY approval may be comming soon, also buying a school and investing millions means serious buisness and positive future, the positive thing about spartan is its almost 30 years old and that's alone worth money[being old with grads in 45 states] but it needs "extreme rehabilitation" in my opnion.I have relocated overeseas few months ago and I am in charge of big dept with resident and students from local schools and all approved in all USA states,I would take any[yes any]carribean grad instead because carribean education far better.
States should look into all schools and not focusing on how to create laws to discriminate against few USA citizens who prove themseves by passing exams and completed residencies,I learned one thing from my current experience:some officials can create any scanerio or case to justify their action and discrimination and always use the old excuse "public safety!!!"
just sharing my experiences and thoughts,I am pro public protection but totally against using it to discriminate and futhur more induce others to follow.just sitting in an airport lounge and sharing my thoughts,

Dr. A.C. Rao is the chairman of surgery @ Wyckoff, he bought the school and I worked with him during my surgery rotation there. Nice guy. He will ask you a lot of Qs during procedure. Its a DO surgery clinical site.
