Where can I find information about facilities where students can do all or most of their cores and electives? I want to stay in one place (who doesn't?) if possible..i'm sure there are threads pertaining to this, can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

I asked my interviewer about this...she said there are a couple of hospitals that you could do that...including Jackson Park Hospital in Chicago...

Look under the clinical forum...there are the names of all the hospitals....choose the region and read up on the hospitals.
typically students who want to stay in 1 location try to get into chicago, janesville (wisconsin...competitive), kern (california...very competitive), New York/New Jersey. Also, the Baltimore/D.C. area has quite a few rotations.
I haven't kept up to date with the whole clinical situation but I've heard a majority of rotations can be completed in Atlanta and Saginaw, Michigan.

I am guessing that there are no complete Texas rotations?
Anything close?

If you are from Texas, and you want to practice in Texas, do not do ANY rotations in Texas. I have seen this statement many times on this forum. I'm not sure why but that is the rule with Texas. Maybe someone on here could comment and give a better answer than mine?

I think it depends on whether you want all of your rotations to be greenbook or not. I made a spreadsheet and checked every hospital Ross listed to figure out which of them have accredited residency programs by going to the ACGME Accredited Program and Institutional Listing website. That cuts your options down quite a bit (although there are still several hospitals which have all or all but one or two core rotations). On the other hand, if you're not worried about greenbook status then it should be much easier to schedule your cores in the same location.
Good luck! :)

I was asking because my fiance wants to at least be in one place where I can be reached (ie where I am MOST of the time) during my rotations. I was thinking Kern, since I'm from California, but how competitive is this place? In the meantime, I'll try to open her mind up to colder places..(NY/NJ) or Chicago....any similar situations?

used to be the case, but the rule changed about a year ago...now you just have to make sure that you register as a visiting student at the Texas school you are doing the rotation.

Kern is competitive...need greater than a 210 on the Boards...speaking Spanish helps...also, timing is key. I think there are 2 main start dates to Kern...July and January...I know they have taken a few students outside of those months, but typically they take during those months.
I think the Kern admin is horrible (my opinion only)...they don't return phone calls very quickly.
