I can’t stand having loans from three different companies/banks; I can’t keep it all straight especially after finishing school because that's when they are going to start asking you for their money.

Do you guys know a good company or bank to consolidate the loans from SMU? …Or any easy way to do it?

My loans are now due since I have used all the deferments and forbearances. My Stafford loans are not bad since I locked in at 2.875% fixed for 30 years, but my private loans are variable and a much larger amount due.

I would wait for your loans to exhaust their deferment status and then consolidate. Sorry, I can't recommend a company. My AUC loans are due this month, ugh! And it's a pretty penny.............a (California) house payment! My SMU loans are not ready to be paid back until the end of the year.

Good luck, if you hear of anything, I would love you to post. :)

I have received several offers for consolidation with different companies over the last two years at SMU. I remember that one of the companies is Sally Mae, but I think I am going to go directly to my bank where I have my personal accounts and try to find out more about my options.
Thanks anyway for you input.

Thanks and good luck. :D

I like Sallie Mae and consolidated my Stafford loans with them. I have my SLX loans with Great Lakes and would love to consolidate those to Sallie Mae. Haven't been that impressed with Great Lakes. It took them a year to release my loans to Sallie Mae for my Stafford consolidation. I called them monthly, and they just couldn't get their act together.

Hope it work out. :D
