If u plan on practicing dentistry in the u.s or canada, DONT study outside those two countries. The rules for dentistry r much different & they treat all foreign degrees (from any country...even japan) like garbage.
There is alot of headache. If you do follow this route, first you are required to complete the examinations for licensing (that is, if your foreign university program is eligible). You have to pass these with out of this world flying colours. I'm talking 80%-90% with 80 being the absolute minimum for most schools in the u.s & canada.
Secondly, with these scores, you have to apply to a university of choice in the u.s and canada with all your documentation including your transcript, your licensing examination marks, letters of recommendation, experience, etc...
If they like your package, they will only then invite you to an interview.
If you pass the interview, then you're amongst geniuses because each school only selects from 5-10 students anually for this bridging program.
K lets say now that you do gain a seat in this program. You haven't seen anything yet. Now you have to undergo a 6 week transition course. Upon completion, you are seated in the beginning of the 3rd year of the university you have been accepted to.
At this point, if you do accomplish all that, now you are home-free to go after establishing a practice.
Therefore, I suggest if you want to do your dentistry degree ANYWHERE abroad (other than U.S & Canada) that you stay in that region & practice there. If you want to get the degree in Europe, then you best plan on staying there.
By the way, there are no dentistry studies there, save for one. I believe it is @ West Indies. But if you plan on studying dentistry there, then read the above post with the information.
Everything I said about dentistry is true except for the state of MINNESOTA. If the university you study at is recognized, then that state DOES NOT require the additional rigorous 2 years of education at a university institution in the states. If you can pass the licensing examinations in the U.S, you can practice there with a foreign degree. The reason that this state does this is because they're short of dentists. You should look into Hawaii too because I think they have a similar setup.
As for medicine, I suggest you go to the Caribbean for studies.
Apply to the big 4 (St. George, Ross, Saba, AUC)... You will get MD & license to practice in all 50 states...Plus Nova Scotia in Canada for Saba I believe.
Be wise. Be patient. Do not rush a decision. I have finished my undergraduate degree, got accepted to Hungarian schools but am not going. There is nothing worst than regret. Make an educated move.

Now this is surely bad news to those who are currently reading Dentistry outside US/Canada who eventually intends to go back in their respective countries.
Could anyone link us where we could find the list of 'recognised foreign dental schools'?
What is the name of the entrance exam for dental graduates? I know medical graduates sit the USMLEs.

There is no "one" exam. It differs for every region/state. You have to ask the Dental board for that particular state.

These are the exact requirements and details for "foreign trained dentists" for the University of Toronto. All programs in North America are very similar in structure and requirements:
International Dentist Advanced Placement Program for Foreign-Trained Dentists
The International Dentist Advanced Placement Program (IDAPP ) is a special university program held over five months. After successful completion of this program students are fully integrated into the third year of our four year Doctor of Dental Surgery Program (DDS), leading to the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery. The program is intended for graduates of non-accredited dental programs, i.e. educational programs that have not been recognized by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada (CDAC) or the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation. Its purpose is to prepare students to take the examinations of the National Dental Examining Board of Canada (NDEB), the same examinations which graduates of accredited dental programs must take to obtain certification. Upon successful completion of the International Dentist Advanced Placement Program and the NDEB examinations, the candidate will be eligible for licensure/registration as a Dentist in all provinces in Canada.
International Dentist Advanced Placement Program for Foreign Trained Dentists:
ADMISSIONS PROCESS
1. Selection of Applicants
Applications will be reviewed after the application deadline. Applicants who are considered to have potential based on their application documents will be invited to the Faculty of Dentistry for an interview. The interview will be done by a panel comprised of two members of the Faculty of Dentistry or alumni and will take less than 30 minutes. Those applicants who are accepted into the International Dentist Advanced Placement Program will be notified by the Faculty of Dentistry Admissions Office. The decision of the Faculty of Dentistry concerning admission into the International Dentist Advanced Placement Program is final. No appeal mechanism exists.
2. Counselling
All incoming students will have the opportunity of orientation counselling to discuss student services, financial assistance, enrolment procedures, housing and other concerns. Appointments may be arranged through the Admissions Office.
3. Admission Deposit
A $2000 (CAD) non-refundable deposit will be required from each applicant granted admission. It will be applied to the fees providing s/he registers.
4. IDAPP FEES
The payment for the International Dentist Advanced Placement Program will be approximately $40,000. The fees for the Doctor of Dental Surgery Program year 3 and 4 are as follows:
• Year 3 approximately $25 000
• Year 4 approximately $23 000
5. Health Protection Requirements
Prior to their first Registration in the Faculty, all accepted applicants will be required to provide documentary proof of a current Tuberculin Test and/or negative chest x-***, as well as current immunization against Rubella, Tetanus, Polio and Hepatitis B. As a condition of enrolment in the program, students are expected to comply with these requirements as detailed in the instructions included in the offer of admission. As well, each year, all returning students must submit a current Tuberculin Test Report and/or a negative chest x-*** report prior to registration. Under certain circumstances, the Faculty may have a duty to report disease, and in the case of a communicable disease, a Medical Officer of Health may be empowered to make an order requiring a student to isolate him/herself in such a manner as not to expose another person to infection. An order of this kind would seriously disrupt the student's program of study.
6. Registration and Orientation
Registration and Orientation will take place prior to the start of classes. Detailed instructions will be sent to incoming students before the beginning of the academic session. Students are reminded that payment of at least the first installment of their fees is an essential part of the registration process. Orientation will take place immediately after registration. This two-day session is mandatory. All first-year students must attend.
7. First Aid and CPR
Students registering in 1st year are required to obtain certification of satisfactory completion of (a) a Canadian Red Cross Society or St. John's Ambulance course in First Aid (or its equivalent) and (b) a CPR Basic Rescuer course before they may register into the International Dentist Advanced Placement Program. All students must present certificates verifying completion of such courses to the Student Services Office by the day of registration into the 1st year of the International Dentist Advanced Placement Program.
8. Required Withdrawal after First Term
If at the completion of the first term pre-clinical period in the first year of the International Dentist Advanced Placement Program, a student fails to meet the standard expected and is deemed to be unsatisfactory, s/he will be required to withdraw from the program.

I got a Federal Direct Subsidized loan this year, but I'm only going to a regional campus. If I got the same next year, does it or any other student loan or federal grant I get pay for room/board? If not, what loans do pay for room/board that I could get easily? Well, I have a job. I've been working at this one place since the end of August, and don't see myself leaving there anytime soon. I also had a couple jobs that didn't last that long before this job that has lasted awhile.
