Hi All,
I have seen threads on other forums where members post some of their studying insights and scores each week, along with their step scores. I am taking the Step in a month and already have a gameplan, but am a little nervous, would anyone like to go into their studying techniques, and what their end result was?
Specifically, how long did you study?
Comp score?
NBME practice test # and score, and how long before exam you took it.
USMLErx or USMLEworld Average % and % completed?
Any courses you took, or things you did that you thought were key.
And finally what your score was, and how you felt about the test.
I know this can be really personal, so please don't share if you are uncomfortable, but I know that I and others would like to know where we stand, and for people in earlier stages of prep - maybe you can give some insight to what was effective for you, in the hopes of helping out the rest of our IMG friends. All schools are welcome.
Thanks,
RJ

You say you have 1 month to study? that might be too little time. you should really leave yourself 2-3 months. But anyway, I've already posted everything you asked for:

http://www.valuemd.com/usmle-step-1-forum/153162-nbme-practice-exams.html

I spent 2 months on Kaplan center Prep and nothing else. Used USMLERx, QBank and USMLE world (finished all of them with random 50 question blocks and scored 71%, 63% and 65% respectively)
The NBME tests are a must! buy all 4 and space them out as you study. They were the best indicators of step 1 performance.
I just got my scores in today and got a 244/99. I thought the test was fair and just long! make sure you work on your endurance.
good luck

Very Good Job my Friend! Kudos. I have actually been studying at a mild pace all semester, but am now really focusing on it - aka stressing the heck out! I already have a plan, but was interested to see what kind of scores on the prep material brings in what kind of USMLE score. Thanks for sharing --- anyone else?

The NBME test is the best tool for judging how your performance will be on the actual exam... Best of Luck...
