For all you current and former Poznan students, whats your feeling about NBME and Step 1 exams.. do you feel school really prepares you for those exams?

NBME are usually finals for a given course. The course doesn't prepare u for the NBMEs, u need to prepare and teach yourself in the way how they will ask u questions on NBME exams. NBME exams are clinical vignettes, class tests are not. I usually study Kaplan and read BRS books, designed to teach u the material and prepare u for NBME exams. Step 1, which is later... no preparation, but its great that we have NBME exams so we know how the Step 1 questions will be like.

The patho course is extremely intense here, so by the time you pass that you really know what's going on with pathology. The other main portions of the USMLE (pathophys and pharm) are not as intense, but pharm does end with an NBME. If you studied for the classes with the right books, you should be on track for when you start studying for the step.

PUMS prepares 4/6 year English students for NOTHING. Prepare to prepare yourself or don't come. Bring extra $$$'s so you can afford to sign up for prep programs that will prepare you.
