First off, all of the 4th year students are spread all over the country, I know of myself in Dallas and another guy in San Antonio, but not sure where everyone else is. Travel to a single location would be expensive and honestly, until I get my first paycheck from my residency program im on a tight budget. Even if Windsor had a ceremony in Carbondale or coopersburg, or Monee or wherever, I wouldnt go anyway - too expensive to travel... interviews were bad enough.

Second, people finish the program at different times. Because the guidelines for clinical rotations in the final year are vague, some folks finish a lot earlier than others. I finish on May 2nd and in order to get my medical license I need that diploma faxed over to the state medical board immediately on May 2nd. Waiting for a graduation ceremony would kill my expected residency start. (once the documents arrive for an initial training license application it takes ~10 weeks to get approval)

There's nothing prestigous about finishing med school at any caribbean program. A ceremony would be silly. Nobody grew up hoping to go to St. Georges, Ross, AUC, AUA, St. Mathews, Windsor, or any other caribbean school... we all screwed up somewhere along the way and here we are. Just give me my MD and let me see patients.
