Hi, as mentioned I'm coming on a surgery elective to Grenada General Hospital in August, but have yet to organise any accomodation. Before spending loads on hotels etc, was wondering if anyone knows of any rooms/apartments that I could rent for the month? Also, am coming by myself so am slightly worried about being out on a limb (apart from other elective people, if there are any..are there?), so, any hints on where to go in first week to meet other students etc? Looking forward to it though, looks amazing! Cheers

Hey - if you are coming in August, then you will have to get a place soon because Carnival (http://www.spicemasgrenada.com/events.htm) is in early August and accommodation can get filled up quick. Here (http://www.grenada-islandreality.com/1.htm) is a realtor that can help with short-term housing. We worked with Jennifer and she was very good. Since you need it for short term, she may be able to help you find a sublet situation.
In terms of students, most of the SGU students will be arriving the second week of August as the term starts August 12th. Third term students will already be here. Victory Bar on the lagoon is a hangout as is the Bananas (right near campus). Prior to the first week of school, there is orientation week for 1st term students and there are tours and other fun things. Also a place to get a cell phone if you need one.
