Jumping on the bandwagon... What do you think my chances are?

I did well all through high school (1550 SAT, Nat'l Merit Finalist), but never had good study habits... so I messed up in undergrad at Northwestern, pulling a 2.7 GPA and 2.4 science GPA -- whereupon I learned my lesson, and developed better habits.

Likewise, I am finishing up a masters degree in biology at Harvard with a 3.8 GPA, 3.8 science GPA... though my MCAT was a bit low at 26: 11 Verbal, 8 Bio, 7 Phys. (I'll be taking the MCAT again.)

I realize my scores aren't necessarily strong, but I do have research experiences at Harvard Medical School and Harvard School of Public Health, with a paper about to be published as well...

Should I be worried?

You and I are in a similar situation...I am graduating from the University of Chicago in June and have a 3.0gpa overall and a 2.5 science gpa. My MCAT sucked (23P). Nonetheless I applied for admission for august. I started the application process in february and I am still waiting for word on an interview.

I will let you know how I fair.

Good luck.

I'm encouraged that you're in a similar situation as I am in...

I'm sure you'll hear good news... a 3.0 at U of C isn't that bad, as I know how tough the grading is there...

I sincerely wish the best of luck to you -- keep me posted, please.
