Ask the dept in which you are rotating about temporary student housing or housing where previous students have lived in the past.

I lived in "executive housing" like extended stay hotel a couple of times. Depending on the rate, it can be comparable to an apartment. You can also call hotels directly and negotiate a rate with the manager. Be sure to tell them you are in medical school, so they don't worry you'll have trouble paying up. Check craigslist too.
