Just thought I'd throw this out there, since I see a lot of reference to KMC and Bakersfield.

I live 1.5 miles from KMC and I've lived here since I was 5, so I can answer any questions you have about this place. It's nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be.

I finished my 4th year rotations there and I enjoyed it. I was coming from NYC, so it was a nice change of pace. It is nice suburban living. The hospital is ok amenity wise, but there is an emphasis on education more so than what I encountered at alot of the sites in NY.

It is one of the few places in Cali that you can wear cowboy boots and feel perfectly accepted.
