Help?!?!?!

:confused:ok, here it is! How the hell do u study pathology? When I study pathology I find myself bored and then I start skipping paragraphs, pages, and finishing way to fast! And when I study slowly I have way to many books open and I start getting confused and time passes by and I havent done much and I need the time to study for my other classes! And pathology is a lot on its own!I have 2 mos till the final exam and I need to start reviewing the things we did from the beginning of the year because I forgot it by now! I did ok on the midterm (75%) but thats cause it was all multiple choice! I'm worried about the final, which is gonna have short answer and essay questions! And one more thing our prof keeps tellin us that we need to list things in order, I cant possibly do that...does anyone have any sugguestions for me?And how do u remember the ie) commenest female adenoma!...cause under every tumour it the most common _______ ________ tumour! and all those # and precentages and ages affected and so on! I better get back to studyin! I'll be waiting for a reply! :confused::D

1- Common error #1 just use one book and stick to it, if not then you will get confused.
2-YES is a lot, so you need a system based aproach, it will be better.

pathology will be easier if you can think of the normal and what should happen if it doesnt happen or work the way it is suppose to, this helped me a lot in path.

as far as the most common dz in certain population, that you will just have to memorize for the sake of it, no short cut around that.

and yes stick with 1 book, but choose good one such as robbins text for main studying and perhaps a review book like BRS for a quick review before a test or on the weekend.

and i will emphasize it again..it is hard to understand the abnormal if you dont know what the normal is suppose to be.

1. I'm using 1 source but when I dont understand i refer to others! esp for pics and gross and microscopic pics!
2. I'm following the system based aproach!:) but i feel like its a mess in my brain and I dont know how to organise it! and i dont know how to connect things!

:)THANK U! I like that advice of urs...no one has suggested that before! I'm gonna try that! to understand the abnormal, u must understand the normal! does that work for the jars/gross pathology? btw I was wondering how do u memorize colors of tumours?...cause I can never remember the colors of things!

for the txt, ive been using robbins but profs that give our course recommend muirs or their own txt! but it doesnt matter i guess, it depends what each student feel comfortable! whats BRS?
