just cuz you matched doesn't mean you are finished with rotations, esp aug class people, and i susupect vtrain left his sub i (which is a required 4th year elective) to the end...

Brooklyn Hosp. med sub-I would make a perfect pre-graduation last elective...but not for someone looking for great teaching. No calls, no weekends, some patient following, 9am to noon'ish schedule.

Dang, hope I don't get burnt for letting on.

Med Sub-I with great teaching and serious hard work (calls, presentations, responsibility): Elmhurst. LICH (depending on which attending you pick, you're treated like the intern as regards patient load, etc). I just finished mine there last week and it was probably one of the toughest rotations I've done 3rd AND 4th yr combined. I loved it! I needed a mini vacation to recover. Brought back all the medicine I'd forgotten while doing fluff electives.

That's what I was a little worried about. I'd like to work a bit harder since my pre-lim is in medicine. But I guess I can pick up more patients and be more pro-active. Thanks Tami.

De nada. Hey Vtrain, did you match at VCU too? I'm going there for advanced Neuro after my med prelim @ LICH.

E.M? Moi? Well, there was this crazy weekend in 1st term when I took a lifetime membership in the Emergency Medicine Club - we all have our own island stories  - but once I faced the full on double barrelled Neuro attacchh in 2nd term, I was sold! Been a fan ever since.

Congratulations on matching in the South, I know the Northeast was totally not your cup o' tea. Sooo relieved Match week's behind us now!

Your house-staff welcome packet has the housing info sheet info which can also be found at URL below. Has address, rent, accomodations etc for each bldg listed in the chart.

Just to give you an idea, 4 of them are across the street from the ER entrance, and the last one (Columbia St) is 3-4 blocks northwest. Click below for a nice gmaps view that gives a good perspective of all bldgs in reference to LICH. Points A thru D are Amity Street bldgs, E is LICH & F is the Columbia Place brownstone
