Hello Everyone :)
I'm looking for an apt. walking distance to school. with Kitchen, bath, bed, AC available and internet included. If utilities are separate, that's fine. Basically anything. I'm starting in Fall of 08 so any info would be appreciated.
So if you have an apartment to lease or know of anything, or the complex that you reside in is good, please let me know! :)
Thank you!

Make that three, lol.
Is it common for students to bike to school? buy a scooter?
Talk about getting your cardiovascular work out, lol!

The school doesn't really help with the lists of numbers, does it? I think I'm going to come a few weeks ahead of time and look... :)
And I say again. The only real way to get any housing is to go to the island. Most places won't rent to you unless you are there.

Thanks for the heads up, gru. I'll be starting this Fall 2008 and I'll try to head over late July to get a place before the rest of my class comes, lol.

NJ,
What are the price ranges on the apts over there? Any in the 350-400 range? I really don't feel like spending over 500 on apts over there.

I know that it would be better to go Bonaire and settle everything before term starts, but I just wanted someone's opinion on the best apt. complexes, so when newbies are looking for apartments, we don't get jipped.
Thanks :)

I'm also looking for housing for the Fall!
Someone really should remove all that information about a "housing complex" on the SJSM website and put up a housing classifieds page instead. Or at least warn the prospective students along the lines of what 'gru' has posted: "The only real way to get any housing is to go to the island (early)".

i will be blunt. the school does minimal on helping students find housing. best thign to do......come to bonaire one week before. you guys have a HUGE class, more then 60 students for just the first semester students starting in fall, this doesnt include the PRE med students begining in the fall either, and they are numbered more than 20. housing will become a HUGE problem next semester. the ones who come the earliest, can find housing the fastest. the ones who delay...well, ya know, youll be spending a pretty penny on hotels(35 - 50 dollars a day). with the current md4 class leaving this semester, (their class is only 30 students) we shouldnt have a big problem, however, it will become a HUGE problem when students come asking for a place to stay, especially when they come a week after the school commences. call the school, come to the island, majority of the students are staying on the island this break, because it is only 1 week long, so use this to YOUR advantage and GET help. when you guys come, there are two places majority of the students will go to to hang out, karels bar or lees. just ask anyone where these two places are at night and you will meet loads of st james students. also i want to add....there is another medical school here(st xavier) who also have a big incoming class for med and pre med....so yea....im just warning all of you!
