This is from another forum..they are looking for international students to rotate in their surg program.

"If you are a senior medical student seriously interested on surgery, we offer a two to six months rotation in surgical specialties. Our institution – University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio – is a level 1 trauma with all specialties including transplant, cardiac and pediatric surgery as well as minimally invasive procedures.
For further information go to our site:http://surgery.uthscsa.edu/vissa/program.asp (http://surgery.uthscsa.edu/vissa/program.asp)"

That's pretty neat (especially since I'm a born and raised San Antonian) but I think that program is different than clinical rotations.

According to the school's site regarding visiting senior-level electives, it says that you can only do 2 rotations, 4 weeks each.

I read the web site and it probably means FMG not off-shore since it would allow "exchange of ideas". Not sure they'd be interested in learning about our culture.

Hey, but it's worth a shot.

They have a maximum of two elective (4 weeks each). I got approved to do maxillofacial surgery in Feb and out of a bunch of the surgery sub-specialties that applied there that was the only one I could get. They are difficult to get in touch and not very organized when it comes to find what rotations are available and which department you need to apply. Although, they are not impossible to get.
