Has anybody heard anything about the surge core at the bronx. It's one of the new hhc hospitals, and some people say the batch starting in 10 days is there first med student surgery batch, but the cornell med schol website says that their kids rotate thru this same hospital for all 5 cores?

Anybody with any insight?!

I am rotating at Lincoln right now. I am not doing Surgery there but yes, you do rotate with Cornell students. I have met several Cornell students in the Surgery dept at the library so i know they rotate through. They also work with us in OB/GYN. They are pretty nice..some slackers, some hard core, just like any other med students. OBGYN is kind of crazy at Lincoln but Peds is good. A friend of mine did Heme-Onc elective at Lincoln and she said she liked it a lot.

oh, but I don't think they (Cornell) do the entire 3 months at Lincoln. I know for OBGYN, they were there for 2 weeks, not sure about Surgery. Hope this helps

Nope, don't know much about Psych. They just opened Lincoln up for all electives. Before, we were only allowed to do peds and OBGYN. ER is supposed to be very good there. I am doing Peds now and it is very very good, extremely organized. Can't say the same about OB though. But, you will be an expert at delivering babies!
