When is too late to come to the island for the May 2003 clas

Hi, i am having problems with my financial aid, and my need a few extra days to straighten stuff out. I was originially set to leave to Dominica May 1st, and now May have to prospone it to May 4-6th. The more time i get the better, i was wondering, when is the latest i can arrive to Dominica for the May semester without missing the opportunity to get a decent apartment, and without missing any events, orientation or any New student activities.

I am actually arriving on the island quite late, on the 8th (thurs.); I hope it doesn't affect apartment hunting, etc. but its unavoidable - I'm working until this Friday because I could only give my notice after I got the Yes from the main office!

I believe orientation for the new students is on the 10th, so if you arrive before then you should be fine.

By the way, what's wrong with your financial aid? If you are worried about getting it even though you are filing so late, just talk to Karyn in the main office about your situation - as long as your paperwork is complete with them at some point, you should be fine. It will take 3-4 weeks to get the first financial aid anyway. Just be prepared to pay for other expenses before that time. Were you selected for verification or something? It must be something serious with your paperwork to delay you so long?

The Island Tour is May 7th, Orientation is May 10th, and registration will be the end of that same week. BUT, don't worry about those things, you'll catch up. Just get here before school starts. There is still a housing surplus and you will find housing.
