If you have family (kids), what are the clinical sites where you can stay for everything (the whole two years)? Is there such a site, and if not, what about at least one year? Thanks..

AUC currently has two places where you can do everything in one hospital. Providence michigan and kern medical center California. You can also stay at one hospital in the UK and Ireland. NYC has several hospital so you can live in one place and travel to each hospital.
Kern and Providence are competitive to get and you may have to wait several months to rotate for cores.
Electives can easily be done in one location as you schedule them yourself.

another idea is to do 6 months at one site and the remaining 1.5 years at a second site. For example, IM and GS in AL/CT/MD/OH(?) then Peds, OB, Pych, FM, and all electives in Chicago.
Get the currently list of sites, stay up to date on list changes, and play around with the schedule to find something that works for you. Don't get too upset if you end up moving to 2 different states during 3rd and 4th year. ;)

Kern also has minimum score requirements, though I don't know how strictly it's enforced.

Not for cores I don't think, since it's first come first serve; but the min. step 1 is 210 for electives.
